Course info
You will enhance your practical cookery skills demanded by all sectors of the hospitality industry and learn advanced service techniques working in the College Training Restaurant.To assist with your professional development you will be required to undertake work experience chosen from a wide range of hospitality establishments in Glasgow or nearer to Cumbernauld. You will also learn IT, communications, numeracy and French, the international culinary language.Students who have shown a continuous high level of motivation and progress will be encouraged and assisted to work abroad on completion of this year.Successful students will be awarded SVQ Level 2 food preparation and cooking. With guidance you could choose further craft training to SVQ Level 3 or HNC Hospitality Management. You will have a qualification and training that will enable you to compete for some of the finest jobs the industry can offer - First Commis/Chef de Partie in a quality kitchen or Assistant Chef in industrial catering or one of the many pub restaurants.
