Course info
Designed to meet the current skill needs in the IT service industry, this course consists of learning and acquiring practical hands-on experience with the latest equipment and software. It covers the following areas: introduction to IT systems and services; maintaining equipment and systems; customer support; health and safety; installation configuration and support for equipment and operating systems, PCs and for PC networks; the Internet; systems testing and fault finding; data security considerations; practical electrical and electronic skills and a range of computer applicatinos. Opportunities may exist to study for A+.Students can progress to HN level study in Computing/Engineering, CompTIA awards or Cisco CCNA. Students can also progress to employment in the IT industry, particularly wtihin technical support.
