The MSc Community Health programme provides a framework by which health professionals can undertake postgraduate study which is of direct relevance to the development and delivery of community health services. Recent changes in policy have impacted on the services provided in community setting. Theory and practice combine in the Community Health programme to equip health professionals to deal with these extensive challenges. The Community Health pathway provides entrants who already have a nursing community qualification (or an equivalent professional qualification) with the opportunity to undertake post-graduate study which will enhance their knowledge and understanding of the development and delivery of community health services. Students within this pathway can select modules for study from within specified options. Successful completion of eight single modules (or double module equivalents), including the Research Methods double module, is commensurate with the award of PgD Community Health.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible for entry to the MSc Community Health programme, candidates should preferably possess an Honours Degree and must hold a professional qualification, which is of direct relevance to the development and delivery of community health services. Normally entrants will have a minimum of two years post qualifying experience in the provisionary Community Health Care Services. Those who wish to undertake the PgC Community Health (Practice Education) must hold a Specialist Community Nursing qualification and have completed a minimum of three years full-time experience in relevant professional practice within the last ten years. Candidates should hold a good honours degree in Law or professional qualification deemed to be of equivalent standard. Those for whom English is a second language should provide scores of 6.0: IELTS or 550: TOEFL.
